Yes, an update was sent out with this explanation:

We recently extended the submission deadline for the Theta Hackathon from 4/9 to June, in part to give more time to participants who lost some time due to a Theta API downtime, but also to provide more time at the request of some participants. However, many in Theta development community that already submitted pointed out that it was unfair to existing teams, especially those that had scoped their projects specifically for the deadline. We think those are valid points and don't want to take away from the hard work put in by those teams, so we've decided to roll back the submission deadline to 4/23. This will give a small extension for the API downtime, but not disadvantage the hardworking teams that were ready for the original deadline. After the end of this Hackathon, we can kick off a new one for those teams that still have a ways to go. We at Theta apologize for the confusion this caused, and hope the community appreciates this compromise in the interest of all the participants. We're looking forward to your submissions in just a few weeks!

    Sincerely,

    Theta team
